Newbodog.com
representatives insist that Mel Molnick is the man behind the legal action
since Molnick has admitted to going after a number of other online gambling
enterprises including Dr. Stanley Ho's Internet casino and Sportingbet.
Mel Molnick
has been successful in using the American legal system to coerce other
operators to pay a form of ransom to get their name back. Earlier this month a Seattle judge handed down a judgment to the
amount of circa $49 million in the case against Newbodog.com in favor of Mel
Molnick.
Newbodog.com ignored the lawsuit
because they where not even based in the US and didn’t think
anything would happen to them. Rather,
Molnick, who filed this suit through his 1st Technology limited-liability
corporation, believes that Newbodog.com had infringed upon his 'process'.
In the
meantime, other than the change in URLs, it is business as usual," said
Calvin Ayre, Newbodog.com
Entertainment founder and CEO. "We
are fighting this dispute and are confident that we will win,” stated Newbodog.com
Entertainment Founder.
Yet Molnick
has had some success with his patent by reaching pretrial settlements with
several Web casinos, according to court documents. Newbodog.com
brand joins a long list of other internet gambling related domain names that
have been targets to Molnick including Ladbrokes.com, Sportingbet.com,
Betsson.com, BetInternet.com and CasinoWebCam.com
