The history of the United States
government is littered with charges and evidence of corruption and scores of
political candidates accepting bribes and all manner of other illicit
activities regarding the implementation of laws and regulations. In fact, it isn't hard to point fingers at
almost any national government bureaucracy such as the one that holds the United States
in its grip and find all manner of improprieties and corruption in every level
of government service. With this type of
corruption and such a gray area in the reliability of the United States public
servants, it is difficult to know for sure whether or not the laws that are
passed on a regular basis are based in reality and are the product of multiple
skilled individuals coming out with a reasonable solution, or if it is simply a
tremendous sham put on for the enjoyment of the citizens of the United States. While it might be somewhat bizarre to think of
the politicians and public servants that run the United States as puppets, it
is certainly a very accurate depiction, considering the amount of campaign
donations and financing that goes on behind the scenes on a regular basis and
is only uncovered long after the fact.
With these tremendous amounts of soft money donations and the dependence
of government officials on contributors to their campaigns to stay in office,
it is not hard to see why many people might believe that the laws that pertain
to United States
citizens are motivated by money and not what these individual politicians
actually believe is good for their constituents.
With the tremendous amount of
regulations that are aimed at online poker rooms and casinos, it brings up the
question of what type of strings are being pulled to make the United States
government so vehemently opposed to the incorporation of online poker rooms and
casinos such as Fulltiltpoker.com in to the overall financial
infrastructure that makes up the United States.
Online poker rooms are a source of all manner of profit, and are based
mostly in foreign locations that cater to United States citizens. In the operations of these businesses, which
generate tax revenue for other nations outside of the United States,
there is no money generated for American citizens in any way, shape or
form. Despite being aimed almost
exclusively at United States
players, there is no way to profit from online poker rooms and casinos other
than to win at the tables. American
citizens are restricted from participating in any type of establishment of
gambling institutions online due to United States regulations that
prevent these types of revenue-generating activities.
It remains to be seen what
type of reasoning that the United
States government could possibly adopt that
would explain their seemingly pathological dislike of online poker rooms and casinos.
