On top of all the other
problems that online poker rooms and casinos had had in recent
years with the United States government and its endless attacks on the gaming
and gambling establishment on the Internet at large, recent legislation has
reworded and reinterpreted existing laws that hampered the ability of online
poker rooms and casinos to do business and attract new patrons and customers
from around the world on the Internet.
The concept of cracking down on the online poker rooms is not new by any
means, but in recent months it has gained much popularity with politicians as a
tool for generating interest in the public at large. By jumping onto a popular issue and beating
it into the ground, politicians can attract attention from the voters who
decide on Election Day who runs the world.
This might seem to be a somewhat narrow-minded approach, but it is the
most successful tactic in politics and is employed by politicians on a regular
basis.
