has announced its decision to implement an extended schedule for its successful
Asia Pacific Poker Tour Season 2.The new plans contemplate the addition of a
new location to cap off the start of Season 2. The first event of the APPT will
be taking place in Macau at the Grand Waldo Hotel
and Casino, in the recently opened Poker
Stars Room in Macau. The event will kick
off on September 1st and will feature two events over nine days. The
$3,200 main event will be running for six days and it is expected to gather up
to 1,000 players and guarantee a $1.3 million prize pool. The APPT will host a "high
rollers" event at Macau. The $19,250 three-day
event will have a maximum limit of 300 entries and guarantees $1.3 million for
the prize pool.

schedule for Season 2 which includes a brand new event in Auckland plus increased buy-ins to create

the Caribbean, and now the Asia Pacific region

The
remaining four events for the APPT's second season will be on Seoul,
South Korea, to Auckland, New
Zealand. The second event will be in Seoul and will feature a $2,870
buy-in; the event will be running at the Paradise Walker-Hill Casino from
September 26–28, 2008 and has a maximum of 250 entries. The next event will be
held at the Skycity Casino in Auckland,
New Zealand
from October 9th to the 12th. The details for the fourth
event of the APPT have not yet been released, but it is known that it will be
held at the Hyatt Hotel and Casino, in Manila,
Philippines.
The final event of Season 2 will be at the Star City Casino, in Sydney, Australia,
from December 2nd to December 7th. This event will feature
a $5,960 buy-in and guarantees a first place of $945,000. As usual, PokerStars
will run online satellites to qualify into most of the events at their site,
including some limited free-to-enter satellites at Pokerstars.net.
