Eric “Rizen” Lynch wrote on
his personal blog that he will leave the UltimateBet
poker team. Lynch got a sponsoring agreement with UltimateBet.com
to play with its poker team at the 2008 World Series of Poker
in Las Vegas only a few days after the online poker site released a statement admitting
the existence of an online poker superuser, a situation that caused a scandal,
and since then the online poker site has been having problems cleaning its
reputation.
Lynch wrote that he would
be leaving UB, but would not give any details:
“After a lot of reflection and thought, I have decided to
separate myself from the Ultimate Bet brand. I hope that everyone will respect
my privacy, as I wish to not go into the decision in any great detail at this
time. At this point in time I just believe that the things I’m trying to
accomplish in my career are not in sync with the Ultimate Bet brand.
It was not an easy decision, and I would like to thank Annie
and everyone else at UB for taking time out of their busy schedules at the
World Series of Poker to talk to me about many things as I worked through my
decision. They were extremely gracious with their time and extremely understanding
and I cannot thank them enough for that”.
