Online Poker site, SunPoker has recently announced that it is switching platforms from the Cryptologic Network to Playtech's iPoker Network. The online poker room has released an official statement in where they explain that such decision is part of a marketing strategy planned by the company with the intention to increase the number of available games offered to players and to improve the quality of its online poker tournaments.

Sun Poker representatives have expressed that the online poker room will share more details regarding the move with its players in mid December. Players will not have to sign up a new account on iPoker to continue playing at SunPoker.com, in addition, the site has also informed players that they can still playing on the Cryptologic Network until January 31st, 2009.

However, there will be some changes for players. The most notable is the fact that iPoker doesn't allow rakeback. Also, My Poker Points (MPPs) will not be transferable after the platform switch. Even so, SunPoker says that it is already working on a special promotion to transfer the MPPs accumulated on the Cryptologic Network. Sun Poker guarantees players that all funds are safe and that they will be able to transfer funds directly once the move is made.
