PartyPoker begins building its own Poker Team
Online poker site PartyPoker.com has recently announced they had signed a sponsorship deal with the professional poker player Ian Frazer to work in the creation of its own poker team. In addition, the site has also announced that Felipe “Mojave” Ramos and Remy Biechel will also join the first ever PartyPoker team.
Frazer commented that he is ‘delighted’ to have the chance to work with PartyPoker and that this new deal will allow him to ‘focus more on poker’. He also said that since he has been with PartyPoker since the early ‘Poker Den days’, sealing the deal with Party Poker makes a lot of sense.
Frazer has earned more than $1 million while playing in major poker tournaments including: online final tables, three WSOP cashes, a European Open title and a UK Open title. French player Remy Biechel recently won the €5,000 side event in Monte Carlo during the EPT Grand Final. Finally, Felipe Ramos from Brazil is well known on the Latin American poker circuit. He has seen great success during his poker career, cashing in several EPT events and most recently finishing sixth in the $5,000 Pot limit Omaha WSOP event.
“The sponsored player and grassroots team initiative will continue to grow with all VIPs reviewed for suitability. We have seen growth in VIPs coming back to Party since our launch of the new software and continued huge strides in the VIP program which culminated in the launch of the new PartyPoints Store this week. We are looking for players that have shown themselves to have star quality in their play but who are also fun, humorous and possess a strong character and willingness to co-operate. Our extensive international television distribution gives players the chance of brilliant exposure.” said a PartyPoker.com spokesperson.
