• Irish Pro Phil "The Unabomber" Laak aims for new poker endurance record

Professional poker player Phil “The Unabomber” Laak has announced his intention to break the world record for consecutive hours playing poker. The “Unabomber” will try to enter his name into the Guinness Book Of Records by besting the current record of 76 hours, 25 minutes and 45 seconds set by British pro Paul Zimbler during the 2009 World Series of Poker Europe.

The 38 year old Irish pro will begin his endurance test starting on June 2nd at the Bellagio in Las Vegas. Laak will use this opportunity to help a good cause. The player will raise funds and donate 50% of his profits to the charity Camp Sunshine, a non profit organization dedicated to provide aid and help to children diagnosed with chronic illnesses and support to their families.

"I have played many enduro sessions of poker, but never anything of this magnitude. I know this will test my limits but I love a good challenge and am excited to be trying to beat this record in Las Vegas' top poker room.” commented Laak.
