• Asian Poker Tour announces 2010 APT Philippines

After a string of successful tournaments, including the 2009 APT Macau, the Asian Poker Tour (APT) will return this August for its second event in Manila: the 2010 APT Philippines.

The seven-day poker event will be held from August 23rd to 29th at the Resorts World Manila complex in Manila, Philippines. Buy-in for the main event is set at approximately US $2,500 + US $200. Besides the main event, the 2010 APT Philippines will offers players eight exciting side events including a high-rollers tournament, a Pot-Limit Omaha tournament, and the Asian Poker Tour's own Greed tournament.

Last year's APT Philippines main event was won by Filipino poker pro Neil Arce, who took home US $185,000 for his victory. The win gave a big boost to the local poker scene, as it was the first time a local player had won an international poker tournament held in the Philippines. Arce will be returning to defend his title at this year's main event. He will have a tough field to beat, though, as many top pros from Asia and other parts of the world are expected to be in Manila to try to take the next APT championship title.

Players from all over the world will have the chance to qualify for the the APT Philippines 2010 main event through the available satellites running at several online poker rooms and networks, including PKR.com, the iPoker Network (Titan Poker, CD Poker, Mansion Poker, Victor Chandler, etc), and PartyPoker. In addition, land-based satellites are being held at Resorts World Manila and at select locations throughout the world.
