Online gaming hearings resume at House Financial Services Committee

The House Financial Services Committee hearing on the HR 2267, the Internet Gambling Regulation, Consumer Protection, and Enforcement Act resumes today in Washington D.C with poker pros and politicians scheduled to speak before House Financial Services Committee.

The hearing will take place today at 2:00 pm ET, and will present five witnesses declaring in front of the Barney Frank-led group. list of witnesses includes UB.com sponsored poker player, and current National Heads-Up Poker Championship winner Annie Duke, who will speak on behalf of the Poker Players Alliance (PPA), and speak in favor of licensing and regulating online poker in the United States.

Also stated to appear in front of the 71-member Committee is Ed Williams, President and Chief Executive Officer of the Discovery Federal Credit Union on behalf of the Credit Union National Association, Tom Malkasian, Vice Chairman and Director of Strategic Planning, Commerce Casino, Honorable Lynn Malerba, Tribal Chairwoman, Mohegan Tribe of Connecticut and Mr. Michael K. Fagan, Law Enforcement/Anti-Terrorism Consultant. No representatives from the United States Treasury or Federal Reserve will be present at the hearing.
