• Playdom and Harrah's Interactive Entertainment to launch official World Series of Poker Game on Facebook

    Harrah's Interactive Entertainment, Inc, owner of the World Series of Poker, has signed an agreement with Mountain View, California-based social games company Playdom, Inc., to re launch Playdom's existing online poker game, Poker Palace, and re brand the Facebook game under the "World Series of Poker" brand.

    "We are very excited to bring the thrill and excitement of the World Series of Poker to the social gaming space with Playdom. We will immediately start to work on enhancing the game, bringing unique WSOP promotions and sweepstakes into the offering and ensuring that the battle for WSOP virtual championship bracelets can become a Facebook-friendly endeavor." said WSOP Vice President Craig Abrahams.

    The WSOP-branded poker game launches globally this week and can be found initially by visiting facebook.com/WSOP, with added social networks like MySpace and others coming soon.

    Players will be able to choose from a variety of different poker offerings at WSOP on Facebook including single table play money, virtual cash games and single-table tournaments offering both full-table and short-handed play. All poker play will feature play money only. Among the offerings coming soon include the battle for virtual WSOP bracelets, as well as the chance to enter sweepstakes that award prizes including trips to Las Vegas and entries to live WSOP events.
