Running from from August 23th to 29th at Resorts World Manila, the week long festivities will be headlined by a US $2,500 + US $200 buy in main event scheduled on Wednesday, August 25th. The event features two starting days, a Day 2, a Day 3.
In addition to the Main Event, the 2010 APT Philippines will also offer players numerous side events, including the PKR Battle of Teams event, the FHM MSW Headhunters event, a shoot-out event, and a Pot-Limit Omaha event. APT Philippines will also mark the debut the new Ladies of Poker Event, which will showcase the top female players from Asia and around the world. The ladies event will kick off on Thursday, August 26, at 3:00 pm. Buy-in is set at US $90 + US $10.
Some of the biggest names in poker have already confirmed their attendance to this event, including poker legend and WSOP main event winner Johnny Chan, as well as JC Tran, Nam Le, and Quinn Do. Familiar names from Asia will also take part in the upcoming APT Philippines, including Filipino poker pro and APT Philippines reigning champion Neil Arce, Asian Poker Tour Macau high-roller champion David Steicke, reigning APPT Macau champion Victorino Torres, Charles “Mr. Macau” Chua, Asian Poker King Tournament winner Elton Tsang, and Poker King team members Winfred Yu and Michael Marvanek. Also confirmed for this event are famous Japanese female pro Kim Wooka as well as bracelet-holder Isaac Galazan from Thailand.
“We made some changes this year to benefit the players. Playing days will be shorter this time, with an extra day added to the schedule. Starting stacks are now deeper, too, as players will be getting 15,000 in chips to start.” said the Asian Poker Tour’s CEO Mr. Jeff Mann.
