    Building a bankroll - MSUDuster

I want to see if it's really possible to grind up a bankroll on Full Tilt Poker. I want to keep this as realistic as possible so here's what I'm doing.

I'm going to deposit $10 onto FTP.

I will mainly play cash games with a few tournaments tossed in. Mainly freerolls like the games at WDIAV and FPCBR. Let's be honest, the easiest way to increase a bankroll is for free right?

In terms of game restrictions, I am allowed to play any full ring or 6 max game of No limit hold'em or pot limit omaha.

I will start at the 2NL or 2PLO level and build up by sticking to the Chris Ferguson school of bankroll management with some slight modifications.

I can sit at a table as long as it doesn't represent more than 10% of my total bankroll.

When multi-tabling I can only play 4 tables or less.

I don't have to leave if the games are good, so if I triple up I can keep playing at that particular table.

I have a stop loss for the day of 3 buy-in's.

I must use hand history reviews and post hands for discussion here at PPB.

I will post my bankroll results here either bi-weekly or monthly depending on the frequency of play. I'm not a professional player by any means so my real life work schedule will dictate how much, or little, online poker I get to play.

If I go bust I can only rebuild my bankroll using freeroll tournaments.

If I see one of the players I consider to be a fish at higher limits I am allowed to play above my roll as long as I can get position on them.

I am allowed to use 40% of my bankroll to try and move up in limits by "taking a shot"

    Bad news.

The bankroll challenge is "on hold" through the end of August because I busto'd my $10 playing 6 tables of 2NLHE while watching TV and checking e-mail.

Part of the problem is that I'm used to playing PLO. I haven't really played NLHE for a couple months, and when I did play it was 6max. I had been playing full-ring.

So in September I'll try again and play 6max 2NLHE or 2PLO.

I reviewed some of the hands I played and it was ugly. I only confirmed how poor I played and see that I should have expected to go broke.

    The TV is no excuse.

I was playing marginal hands out of position. Limp-calling with dominated hands, and bluffing too much OOP with draws.

In September the plan is to play tighter and use position a lot more.

As I'm more used to 6max I may abandon full-ring for now and revisit it later.

I played a little bit of full ring 2NLHE and had mixed results. It's basically break even. I haven't had as much time as I'd like to play.

I'll be putting some hands in this weekend and will post a graph for everyone.

Due to some unfortunate results playing higher ( took a beating ) my bankroll challenge was put on the backburner. I've also been playing a lot of PLO lately. Have no fear, I'll be starting the NLHE action soon.

GL on the challenge, I'm sticking right now mainly to freerolls and low limits. My play is too terrible and I can't seem to adhere to Ferguson's bankroll management for the life of me.

    MSUDuster's NLHE Graph

Ok, so from Jan 2010 to Feb 2010 I finished down a buy-in. From there apparently I really did well and, in just a few hundred hands of full ring and 6max at 2NLHE to 10NLHE (I think) I won numerous buy-ins. According to HEM I'm currently up $92.90 exclusively at NLHE. Which I think must be off because I think I lost $15 or so the lats time I played and that doesn't appear to register.
